Assembly and Riverside Studios

Our team works year-round to deliver the highest quality entertainment to live audiences of more than 500,000 in London and in Edinburgh.

We are based in London all year at Riverside Studios and we run Assembly Festival at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - the longest running of the 'super venues' at the greatest arts and cultural showcase in the world. We will soon be opening a year-round home in Edinburgh, Assembly Roxy, and touring with the best of our programmes.

Led by William Burdett-Coutts, our team has extensive experience in festivals, theatre and television. We produce, we present, and we work with partners nationally and internationally.

Riverside Studios is situated on the banks of the Thames in Hammersmith, West London and has been one of the most important venues in London for new and international performing arts for over 30 years. Our iconic space houses theatres, art-house cinema, TV studios and an award-winning bar and restaurant. Our mission is to be London's pre-eminent space for risk, inspiration and creativity in the arts and media, in a setting which is energetic, internationalist and friendly.

Assembly Festival is described as 'the National Theatre of the Fringe' and the 'jewel in the crown of the Fringe'. In over 33 years of operation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe we have established a reputation for excellence. We bring the best talent in the world to Edinburgh; our 13 temporary theatre venues and 8 bars are jam-packed with great theatre, comedy and music. Our iconic venues include Assembly Hall and the Assembly Festival garden in George Square, which is the hub of the Fringe and the best place to be in August.
